FAQs

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

I AM NERVOUS ABOUT THE PAIN.

It is perfectly normal to feel nervous before a tattoo. I myself have quite a lot of tattoos and I still get nervous before getting a new one. I always have your best interest and wellbeing in mind, so if you have any worries don’t be afraid to voice them to me during your session. You can take small breaks through out the tattoo session if need be. I always recommend that you bring a bottle of water and/or a sugary drink to your appointment and make sure that you have eaten prior to coming so you are not getting tattooed on an empty stomach.

You are also welcome to bring headphones so you can sit back, relax, listen to music and get into your comfort zone.

CAN I SEE MY DESIGN BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT?

The short answer to this question is no.

All of my designs are drawn 1-2 days, or the night before your tattoo appointment. The reason I do this is so I can give each design my full attention and have the time required to complete each design to the best of my ability. It is also done so that I am able to show each client their design on the day of their appointment without the opinions of others influencing what the client wants.

WHAT IF I WANT TO MAKE CHANGES TO THE DESIGN?

Small changes are able to be made on the day of the tattoo appointment. However please try to keep in mind that i always have the best interests of each client in the layout/composition of the design. I create each design to compliment the individual. Certain elements i purposely place in the designs to create flow and balance out the piece. Everything from placement on the body, directional flow, focus points, colour selections, readability/clarity and the way it will age over time are all considered in every design i create.

I LIKE THIS DESIGN I FOUND on the internet, CAN YOU DO THIS FOR ME?

This is always an interesting question. Things that are required to look a certain way such as band logos, flags, family crests etc. are perfectly ok to have replicated. However other than those I will not copy other tattoo designs and art pieces. They are ok to use as a point of reference but all of my designs are of my own creation. Imagine paying an artist to get a particular design and then somebody copying it, it wouldn’t be nice.

I FILLED OUT A BOOKING FORM...WHAT NOW?

I am usually on top of my emails. However i am just one person and can only do so much. Unless there are circumstances such as covid-19 lockdowns, holidays, illness etc. you can usually expect a reply within a week of your email/booking request.

PLEASE remember to check your junk folder too as sometimes the emails end up in there.

Once you receive a reply to your email please make sure you don’t take too long to reply again as its first in best dressed when it comes to the times and dates i have available.

EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT DEPOSITS.

All tattoo appointments require a deposit.

The deposit secures the chosen date for the tattoo whilst also showing commitment before i spend hours on the design process.

I do not begin any design without a deposit.

The deposit is also non refundable. I am an understanding person and if something comes up where you need to cancel or change the date of your appointment i need 72hrs notice. This allows me time to try to fill the cancellation and rebook you. If notice is not given within this time frame you will lose your deposit. Also note changing the date of your appointment multiple times will result in the loss of your deposit.

Please keep in mind i am self employed. This means i don’t get sick pay or holiday pay, so if you cancel or no show and i cannot fill the spot i dont get paid.

Deposits can be paid via cash or bank transfer.

DO YOU EVER TRAVEL AND TATTOO IN DIFFERENT LOCATIONS?

I sure do! I am based in Perth, Western Australia but I do travel around from time to time. All travel dates, tattoo conventions and guest spots will be advertised on my instagram. So keep an eye out on there to see if i am coming to your town or city in the future.

HOW MUCH FOR A SLEEVE?

This is a question we hear alot, the cost of a tattoo is determined by many factors. This is all worked out during the consultation process after you have filled out a booking form with the necessary details. Everything from the size, location, style, to it being black&grey or colour and your pain tolerance, all play a part in working out how much your tattoo will cost.

Remember you pay for quality work.

DO YOU TATTOO PEOPLE UNDER 18YRS OF AGE?

No. Never. There are no exceptions to this even with parental consent. Getting a tattoo is a life long decision and your interests change as you grow older. Just wait until you turn 18, it’ll be worth the wait!

CAN I USE NUMBING CREAM?

I personally don’t mind if you use numbing cream. However this can result in your tattoo taking longer or not healing as well as expected and needing extra sessions. Numbing cream can change or swell the skin making it harder to work with. Also a lot of these creams dont have great quality control and can have adverse reactions. If you have used it before or really feel like you need to use it then please let me know prior to your appointment and check the brand of numbing with me.

In my personal experience it is easier to relax and just enjoy the tattoo for what it is rather than deal with the pain once the numbing cream begins to wear off.

can i bring a friend to my appointment?

Please come to your appointment alone.

The studio does not have the space to accommodate extra persons in the space. It can also take away from me being able to give you and your tattoo my full attention.

Do you do touch-ups on your tattoos?

My tattoos do not usually require touchups. But in rare cases when they do require an extra pass to fix things due to bad healing, i treat this as another tattoo session and require you to pay for this.

Regardless of it being a touch-up/extra pass on an existing tattoo, it still requires my time and the same supplies and equipment i would use for any tattoo.

(The reason i do not offer free touchups is explained further in the next question)

How do i take care of my new tattoo?

At the end of your tattoo session i will explain everything you need to know about healing your tattoo correctly. This can slightly differ depending on the location of your tattoo, how big it is, if you have any allergies and a few other factors.

There are plenty of opportunities to ask as many questions as you need and i also encourage you to send me an email with any follow up questions or concerns you may have during the healing process.

The process of getting a tattoo does not end when you leave the studio. Healing your tattoo well is extremely important. I will apply the tattoo to the best of my ability and then you are required to heal the tattoo to the best of your ability.

I will give you all the information and the product required to get a perfect heal on your new tattoo. Just as you expect me to do my job to the best possible standard i also ask you to respect the process and take responsibility for the proper healing and care of your new tattoo.

This is why i do not offer any free tattoo sessions or touch-ups.
